Alexander (Alex) Ziloni (January 1, 1916 - March 3, 2023) was an Israeli military man, served in the technical formation of the Royal Air Force and later commanded Ekron Airport (later Tel Nof). He was one of the first of the Defense Air Service and one of the founders of the Israeli Air Force.

Alex Ziloni was born in 1916 in Poland to Bernard and Pauline Ziloni. After the family immigrated to the Land of Israel in 1921 [1] he studied at the Hebrew Gymnasium in Jerusalem, which he graduated in 1934. In 1934 he joined the " Haganah " organization in Jerusalem and served in the traveling unit.

During the events in 1936 he went to England to study aviation engineering. With the outbreak of World War II , he volunteered for service in the technical formation of the Royal Air Force where he worked, first, as a volunteer and trainee technician and then went through an officer's course and a technical course and served in several air units. In 1943 he was sent to Canada with the Royal Air Force's flight school, where he commanded various technical units and participated in test flights.

In 1944 he was sent back to England and assigned to a navigation unit in Ireland. According to his request, he was sent to Palestine and stationed in the Ekron camp (Tel Nof) where he was later appointed as the base commander [2]. In 1946, he was sent to serve in Alexandria, Egypt, and then he was sent to al-Habaniya in Iraq. During this service, Ziloni reached the rank of squadron.
