Idf Zahal Alpinist Commando Unit Field Sun Glare Ski Goggles Israeli Army Tavas

These are extremely rare authentic Israeli Army Idf / Zahal Alpinist Hermon Mountain unit ski Goggles. THIS IS THE REAL DEAL. Made in Japan by "Tavas"and has the official Idf engraved "Z" mark. , (Yehidat Ha'Alpinistim) is a special Israeli Defence Force infantry reserve unit, under the command of the Israeli Northern Command, specializing in mountain warfare, snow warfare and difficult terrain warfare in the northern front, especially Mt. The Alpinists are proficient in many aspects of snow warfare, among them shooting and attacking while sliding on skis and custom-made Snowcats, and defensive tactics....

The soldiers of this special unit mainly consist of soldiers that served in the Sayeret Golani. In some places it mentions that this Commando Unit was established in 1974 (as part of the 1973 Yom Kippur War lessons) and in other places it mentions 1983. I would say that the 1974 year is the correct one since I actually served in the Golani Brigade from 1974 and I recall hearing about this unit already then.

Anyway it seems that these goggles were used in the early days of this unit. I did not clean them - this is exactly how I got them.
