Used Dual Italian Weber 40IDF dual carburetor kit for Porsche 914 and VW type 4

  
Up for sale is a complete used set of Italian made Weber 40 IDF dual 2 barrel carburetors. The sale includes manifolds for 1.7, 1.8 and 2.0 VW type 4 and Porsche 914 manifolds as well as the linkage. Overall, these carbs look decent but need a good cleaning and going-over.

I have no idea how long they have been sitting around. The butterfly movement in both carbs is very smooth. Both chrome air cleaners and chrome linkage show signs of light patina (see pics). PLEASE NOTE: 3 out of the 4 threaded ears (that hold the air cleaner on the carburetor) on the fuel inlet side of the carburetors are broken off - both are broken on one carb and one is broken on the other. I tested this solution by tightening them with a screwdriver.

I was able to draw them up tight. The ears would need to be built up with weld and tapped for a complete repair.

I do not have the broken ear pieces. I have included pics of these areas. Additionally, one of the nuts that attaches the manifolds to the carbs is mis-matched. It is the same size thread, but is a nylon lock nut. It is not my intent to rip anyone off. I'm not familiar with these carburetors.

I had no idea how to price these due to the damaged ears. If you think the price is too high, check back in 15 days as I'll be lowering it twice monthly until they sell.
